Dean's story: Dean was an 8th grader at Forest Hills Central Middle School from Grand Rapids, Michigan. She had dreams of being a model and was originally from California. She was close with her best friend and they did everything together, including styling their hair the same. Although Dean and her stepfather had some arguments about her desire to model, there was no family problems ever detected. Dean was also considered not only a bright girl who got good grades, but also very attractive. So how could she just suddenly vanish off the face of the earth?
It was February 5, 1981 when she attended her brother's wrestling tournament in Ada, Michigan, a town outside of Grand Rapids. She was last seen by her mother at an afterschool program when she excused herself to go to the ladies' restroom, but she never came back. The students who were thought to have maybe of seen Dean that night were contacted by the school principal, but none of them could place her near any school restrooms. Dean left her wallet and make-up home and was known to never go anywhere without her make-up. Police couldn't find any reason for her disappearance. She had no history of running away.
So what happened to her? Was she kidnapped from inside or outside the school? Was she taken against her will ,by someone she knew or by a stranger? Did she go willingly with someone but met with foul play later? Did she somehow have an accidental death? Is she still alive, living a happy life? There are many unanswered questions that still remain, but one thing's for sure-Dean's family will never stop looking for her. Dean also goes by the nickname Deanie. Her mother and stepfather who she lived with currently lives in Arizona. Dean was declared leagally dead in 1991, ten years after she vanished. 27 years later, her case is still unsolved.
